About our Nursery
Welcome to Petworth Primary Nursery, a welcoming and nurturing nursery in the heart of Petworth, located right next to Petworth Primary School.
Petworth Primary School has recently taken over the running of the nursery following the previous nursery charity experiencing difficulties. While the nursery has a new chapter and a new name, the familiar faces, dedicated staff and caring approach remain the same. Our experienced nursery team has already built a wonderful setting where children are supported to feel happy, secure and confident as they grow, learn and develop.
Being part of Petworth Primary School also gives us a wonderful opportunity to create strong links between nursery and school, helping children and families to feel part of our wider school community from the very beginning. We will also make full use of the incredible facilities the school has to offer e.g. animals, forest School, allotments, hall.

At Petworth Primary Nursery, we believe that every child is unique. Our aim is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children can explore, play, develop their independence and build positive relationships with the people around them.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children across all areas of their development through a balance of child-led play, purposeful activities and nurturing interactions. Our team takes the time to get to know each child as an individual — understanding their interests, strengths and needs and using these to help them make progress. We know that children learn best when they feel happy, safe and valued. That is why we place strong emphasis on building positive relationships, encouraging curiosity and giving children the confidence to have a go, make choices and discover the world around them.
From developing communication and language, early literacy and mathematical skills, to supporting physical development, creativity, independence and emotional wellbeing, we are here to give every child the best possible start to their educational journey.
