Bombing of the Boy's School 75th Anniversary
29th September 2017
Today all of our key stage two children took part in the 75th anniversary memorial service held at St. Mary's Church and then by the grave of the 28 children and three adults who lost their lives. As you would expect it was a moving experience.
After the service over 50 people returned to our school where they could meet with old friends, share memories and educate our year six children about the history of Petworth. As we were keen to share what the children have learnt about Petworth, the children had produced a 'mini-museum', which covered many different aspects of Petworth ranging from changes in transport, St. Mary's Church to life in Victorian Petworth. In addition to this Rowan Explorers completed their own 'archaeological dig’ of the school's memory box.
